Voice input - no typing required

Skales uses Whisper for voice transcription. Hold a keyboard shortcut, speak naturally, release. Your words are transcribed and sent. Hands-free operation for users with motor impairments or those who simply prefer speaking.

Screen reader compatible

The Skales interface is built with ARIA labels, semantic HTML, and proper focus management. Works with NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS, and JAWS. All interactive elements are keyboard reachable and properly announced.

Full keyboard navigation

Every function in Skales is reachable without a mouse. Tab to navigate, Enter to activate, Escape to close. Keyboard shortcuts for common actions. No pointer device required for full functionality.

Text-to-speech responses

Enable voice responses and Skales reads its answers aloud using ElevenLabs TTS or your system TTS engine. Adjust voice speed, pitch, and volume. Ideal for users with visual impairments or reading difficulties.

Cognitive accessibility

Ask Skales to simplify any text, explain jargon in plain language, or break complex information into numbered steps. The AI can reformat any content to make it more accessible for users with cognitive or learning differences.

Desktop Buddy for low-vision users

The Desktop Buddy gecko is resizable and repositionable. For users with low vision, increase system text size and Skales scales with it. High-contrast mode compatible with OS-level accessibility settings.
