Skales v9.1.0: The Studio Update
Three months of work. Hundreds of commits. And the biggest Skales release we've shipped. v9.1.0 isn't just a feature update — it's a new direction. Skales is no longer just an AI chat client or an automation tool. Starting today, it's a full creative and operational platform that runs entirely on your machine.
Here's everything that's new.
Skales Studio
The headline feature: a complete AI media creation suite built directly into Skales. Studio covers four categories:
- Image Generation — DALL-E, Replicate, HuggingFace, and our own Skales Visuals backend.
- Video Creation — text animations, motion graphics, and MP4 export from a single prompt.
- Voice Generation — TTS with multiple providers. Narration, voiceovers, audio assets.
- Music Generation — generate background tracks and audio from text descriptions.
To make it immediately useful, we've included 37 pre-built templates across all modules. You don't need to figure out the right prompt — just pick a template, customize it, and generate.
We also added a Brand Kit. Set your colors, fonts, and logo once, and every Studio output will automatically apply them. Consistent output without constant manual tweaking. All generated content lands in the Gallery with export presets for Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and other common formats.
Codework: Autonomous Coding Agent
Codework is a coding agent that works on real projects. Point it at a project folder on your machine, and it reads the files, understands the structure, plans what needs to change, and writes the code.
Every change is shown as a live diff before it's applied. You review, approve or reject individual edits — nothing gets written without your sign-off. While Codework plans its approach, it can also search the web in real time to look up documentation, APIs, or solutions to specific problems.
Lio AI, which scaffolds entire web projects from a single prompt, has been integrated into Codework to handle the initial project setup.
Organization: Multi-Agent Teams
Organization lets you build a team of AI agents and give them real jobs. The CEO agent takes a high-level goal and breaks it into sub-tasks, then delegates those tasks to department agents: Marketing, Development, Research, and others.
Each department agent has its own role, its own set of tools, and can execute tasks autonomously — browsing the web, reading files, writing documents. Before any agent takes an action, an Approval UI shows you exactly what it's about to do. You can review and confirm or cancel any step in the pipeline.
This is the first version of Organization. We're planning deeper inter-agent communication and persistent team memory in v9.2.0.
Planner AI Tasks
The Planner now supports scheduled autonomous execution. You can create AI Tasks that run on a daily schedule, weekly, or via custom cron expressions. Skales runs them in the background — even while you're away from your desk — and logs the output for you to review.
Examples: generate a morning briefing from your calendar and emails every weekday at 7am. Summarize your GitHub notifications every Sunday evening. Trigger a Browser Playbook to pull competitor pricing every Monday morning.
Ollama Marketplace
Finding and installing local Ollama models used to mean switching to a terminal. Not anymore. The Ollama Marketplace is built directly into Skales — browse available models, see their sizes and capabilities, and install with a single click. The model shows up in your provider list immediately.
12 Languages
Skales now supports 12 languages in the app interface: English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Русский, 中文, 日本語, 한국어, Português, Tiếng Việt, Hrvatski, and Türkçe. We've translated over 2800 strings across the entire UI, including all new v9.1.0 features.
Browser Playbooks
Browser Control has been in Skales for a while, but Playbooks take it further. Record a browser workflow once — navigating to a page, clicking elements, extracting data — and Skales saves it as a reusable playbook. Trigger it manually anytime, or connect it to a Planner AI Task to run on a schedule.
What's Next
v9.2.0 will focus on stability and business integrations. We're working on deeper CRM connections, persistent Organization team memory, and improved performance for large projects in Codework. We're also revisiting mobile access — a proper iOS and Android companion app is something we want to build right.
As always, Skales is free for personal use. No subscription, no account, no data leaving your machine.
