Skales v6.0.0 "The Living Agent" is the largest release since v1.0. These are the complete release notes.
New Features
Autopilot. Set goals instead of tasks. Autopilot decomposes a complex objective into executable steps, runs them in sequence, and surfaces decisions that require human judgment. Enabled via Settings → Autopilot. Invoke in chat with the ⚡ prefix.
Browser Control. Direct browser interaction: navigate to URLs, click elements, fill forms, extract page content, take screenshots. Works with Chrome and Edge. Access via the 🌐 icon in the chat toolbar or by prefixing instructions with browser:.
Multilingual UI. Skales now ships fully localised in English, German (Deutsch), Spanish (Español), and French (Français). Every interface string is translated. Change in Settings → Language. The AI response language defaults to the UI language and can be overridden per conversation.
Lio AI v2. The built-in code and app builder has been substantially improved. Now supports building apps that run inside Skales (web apps, data tools), multi-file projects, shell scripts, and automation chains. Code generation quality improved significantly, especially on data manipulation and API integration tasks.
Group Chat improvements. Support for up to 4 AI personas simultaneously. New "debate" mode where models are explicitly asked to challenge each other's responses. Configurable round count (1–5).
Memory improvements. Bi-temporal fact storage (described above). Improved human.json extraction — the agent is more proactive about identifying and persisting useful facts from your conversations. Memory viewer in Settings → Memory.

Email integration: support for additional providers (Fastmail, ProtonMail via bridge). Calendar: recurring event support. File management: improved folder traversal for large directories. Desktop Buddy: configurable size and opacity. Whisper integration: faster transcription via Groq API, improved accuracy on accented speech.
Bug Fixes
Fixed: context window overflow handling for long conversations. Fixed: calendar event creation timezone issue on non-UTC systems. Fixed: file path encoding on Windows for paths with non-ASCII characters. Fixed: Desktop Buddy disappearing behind full-screen applications. Fixed: OAuth token refresh failure for Google Calendar integration. Fixed: memory leak in streaming response handler (long sessions).
Migration Notes from V5
V5 configuration files are automatically migrated on first V6 launch. Your human.json and soul.json carry over unchanged. Custom skills from V5 are compatible with V6. Provider configurations require re-entry of API keys for security reasons — you will be prompted on first launch. V5 conversation history is importable via File → Import → V5 Archive.
Known Issues
Browser Control is not currently supported on Firefox. Autopilot may time out on tasks requiring more than 20 sequential steps. Multilingual UI has some untranslated strings in edge-case error messages (to be fixed in v6.0.1). Download v6 here — see all features or the FAQ.
