The V6 launch marks a milestone, not a finishing line. Here is an honest look at what is on the roadmap for V6.1 and beyond โ€” what we are building, what the community has been asking for, and how to contribute to shaping what comes next.

V6.1 (Targeting April 2026)

Linux support. The most requested feature since v1. Linux is coming in V6.1. We are targeting Debian/Ubuntu packages and AppImage format for broad compatibility. Fedora/RPM support to follow. The technical work is largely done; the outstanding issues are packaging, autostart behaviour on different desktop environments, and testing across distribution variants. Linux users who want to help test the beta build can apply at github.com/skalesapp/skales/discussions.

Russian language UI. The fifth language in Skales. Russian has a large community of Skales users running it through the English interface, and several contributors have offered to help with translation. Target for V6.1.

Morning Briefing skill (built-in). An official first-party morning briefing automation: configurable time, reads your email overnight, summarises calendar, surfaces action items, optional audio readout. This exists as a community skill today; V6.1 ships it as a first-class feature with improved reliability and deeper calendar integration.

Security Dashboard. A new page in Settings showing: all data stored by Skales, all API keys in use, all external connections Skales has made in the last 30 days, and quick actions to revoke integrations. This improves transparency and gives privacy-conscious users a single pane of glass for understanding exactly what Skales is doing on their machine.

V6.2 and Later (No Hard Timeline)

FTP/SFTP deployment. A feature requested by users who want to deploy Skales-generated files (documents, exports, data) directly to remote servers. FTP, SFTP, and S3-compatible endpoints are planned.

Mobile companion app. Not a full mobile agent โ€” the compute requirements are not there yet for full local inference on phones. A companion app for remote control via Telegram/WhatsApp equivalent, but with a dedicated native app rather than a messaging bot. Early design work in progress.

Plugin system. Allow third-party skills and integrations to be distributed through a community marketplace. The architecture for this is designed; implementation is scoped for H2 2026.

How to Contribute and Shape the Roadmap

The public roadmap lives at github.com/skalesapp/skales/projects. Vote on issues that matter to you, add new feature requests, and participate in the discussions that shape prioritisation. Code contributions are welcome under the BSL-1.1 contributor agreement โ€” see CONTRIBUTING.md for the process. For bug reports, use GitHub Issues. For larger ideas, use GitHub Discussions.
